Practice Makes Perfect in Dating
63When you're trying to find your true love, there are many ways to do it. You can go out to bars or other meeting places in your home town, in a haphazard attempt to meet someone, or you can try a more sophisticated approach, such as using an online dating service such as FindTrueLove.com.
Using an online service - a free one, which is nice - you can upload your profile to the site, and be able to search other people's profiles in order to find people - not one person, but people - who share the same interests as you do.
It's important to not think that you're going to find your "true love" first crack out of the computer. It's always nice when that happens, but statistically, it's not really probable.
The thing is to remember to not get discouraged should your first date not work out. Find another person who also shares your interests, and try again.
The reason I'm calling this article, "Practice Makes Perfect," is because, it does! The more you practice talking, sharing information, and just "dating," the better you'll get at it. The more at ease you'll become, as you meet more and more people.
"Practice Makes Perfect" is the perfect mantra for shy people, who have trouble thinking of things to say to people they first meet. These online data services allows people to chat with each other before they decide to meet - that's a heaven sent opportunity for shy people. I don't need to tell you that it's a lot easier to type on a computer screen than it is to talk to a real live face, or even just to talk over the phone.
When you're typing on a computer screen, you can spend a few minutes thinking of what you want to say, and not feel rushed about saying it. That lowers the anxiety level a great deal!
Once you've decided to meet someone in person, therefore, you'll have a better idea of what they're like, and you'll be able to talk with them a lot easier since it won't really be your first meeting.
So, while online dating services are great for everybody, they're especially good for those shy folk who need a little bit of extra preparation before they start on the dating scene.
